Sony.
Beyond the numbers.
Annual report redesign
A publication system for a technology brand.
A brand story.
A clear structure.
Redesign an existing annual report for a company in a field of interest, using charts, graphs and tables to develop information-design skills.
My goal was to make the original Sony report more visually interesting and easier to read. I developed a publication system that balanced an expressive visual direction with clear organization for narrative, financial and business information.
Technology, with
a human presence.
I chose bold colors and geometric framing to give the report a more modern feel that suited Sony. Photographic compositions connect the cover to the interior, while magenta headings and accents carry a consistent thread through different types of content.
Image. Information.
One visual language.
Make the numbers
part of the story.
A timeline, circular diagrams, charts and tables give different information types their own structures. The shared accent color connects them to the report’s editorial pages.
A system that
changes pace.
Image-led spreads alternate with denser reading pages. Colored framing, pull quotes and large figures provide variations within the same publication.
An editorial
design concept.
Editorial and information design by Roshni Vasudevan. Developed as an academic redesign, this is a conceptual publication and is not an official Sony report.
Original company content, photography and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Images shown here are publication mockups.
