Type Experiments
Sunset Tea / Three-variant packaging concept
01 / Brief

Type as a
starting point.

Develop typographic experiments into a visual system for a tea packaging concept.

For the Type Experiments assignment, we began with a Chinese poem and its translation as the starting point for typographic exploration. I explored its letterforms as images, structures and repeat patterns.

02 / Exploration

From letterforms
to surface patterns.

After experimenting with different letterforms through repetition, overlap and scale, I developed those that offered the most possibilities for pattern-making. The resulting shapes suggested flowers and tea leaves, inspiring the Sunset Tea packaging concept.

03 / Final direction

One family.
Three variations.

Black surfaces and gold motifs connect the tea range. Green, red and golden-yellow bands distinguish Jasmine, Hibiscus and Original Tea while keeping the layout consistent.

Hibiscus / Red accent
